It's not just elderly but many of us disabled people who are on SSDI and this can affect us as well. The things you suggest are not things I can eat due to a strict diet. I would need a freezer to buy up bulk chicken as I cannot eat canned without reaction. And I don't have extra money to do such things neither does my elderly mother.
