As a trans woman I am horrified by what is going on in this country against me and my people. I fear for my life because often laws guide population moral assumptions about groups. I wish I even had a means to escape the USA but not much of the world is any better. Please continue covering stuff like this because the awareness of what is happening to us is so deeply important.

It truly is remarkable where we are as a country. On successive days you had to write about a prominent lawyer being paid two hundred thousand dollars to keep disfavored people from using public restrooms and today you have to write about the Supreme Court weighing in on whether a man can put on a wig and lip synch to I've Never Been to Me. This is the America that people like the new Speaker - a man who has his own minor child monitoring his porn usage - has given us in 2023. All while half a world away the Middle East is on fire, where people do not have the luxury of spending time on such frivolity.

When the history of this period is written - if as a nation we survive the authoritarianism being pushed - people will look back on these self-appointed culture warriors as profoundly unserious and hypocritical clowns.
