Thank you for this!

I worry that we focus on one person, and yes, Trump et al were forced to return him to the states. But that's a token at best. What about all the others?

Like the children Trump forcibly separated from parents in his first term, they deliberately don't keep good records so that their illegal acts can't be undone.

We need to track them all — and probably not just the ones who have been deported, or sent to a third-country prison, but the ones who are in custody here.

Where are the people?

As others note, thank you for in in-depth analysis. This is not about one person or even a few people. It is about many people illegally and inhumanely treated. This is not just about Trump. This is about the United States of America. The world has a reason to treat us as pariahs.

ICE "agents", DJT and his cronies, along with anyone else that supports this vile shit — one day, you're all getting what's coming to you. Be it now or in whatever's waiting after. Evil, vile, disgusting excuses for human beings.

Anyone that “disappears” by government should sue Trump. Disappearing people and lying about their disappearance and then acquiescing to the pressure of the Court -bringing Garcia home and sending him to Tennessee where he was stopped and no charges were brought against him! His license needed renewed. That’s it. The problem is that evidently the prosecution is going to prosecute him for something he never did and has no knowledge of and Tennessee’s far right MAGA legislature will work with Trump to destroy Garcia and mutilate his life knowing he’s innocent. Trump doesn’t care if Garcia suffers and his life is in ruins. Trump works for Trump and only Trump. His psychotic narcissistic personality disorder is peaking. Watch out for the illegal bombs and stand up for America —don’t silent

This, more than almost any other question, is what Americans want to know: Where are they? And we’re not going to stop asking until we know! This is NOT what America is, and this is NOT ok with us.

Donald Trump has heralded a new age of lawlessness. His DoJ feels as free to lie as shamelessly as daddy. Why does it bother with such pretense as Los Angeles indicates - is ICE so ineffectual as to need 700 Marines? - “law” is whatever Trump or Miller decides this particular nanosecond?

You'd think that "about to be sent to a death camp" was about as clear a case of irreparable harm pendente lite as you could devise, but no.... (Especially since you can always send people to death camps later, but it's not commutative.)

If Tren de Aragua has "invaded" the US, aren't Venezuelan detainees prisoners of war?

It would not surprise me in the least if 47 and all of his thugs start sending everyone caught up by them over to Guantanamo. A while ago I read that there were plans to expand the space there but the story got buried in the morass of all the other overwhelm of news or what passes for it anymore. Don’t forget too that stock prices in private prison companies rose after he was elected. Don’t put anything past these awful creatures.

They were in process of expanding the space when it was ruled that the facilities they were creating (a tent city) failed to meet necessary humanitarian standards in several respects.

With media attention now turned elsewhere, they may be back in expansion mode behind our backs. Be alert and wary.

I keep asking but thus far no experts have answered. I will try again. Assume that X number of people on any of the flights to El Salvador were under valid deportation orders. So presumably they have had due process as to the penalty of deportation. But have they had due process if they are deported to PRISONS in another country without a conviction? They couldn't be put in a US prison without one. What allows that to change just because we have some agreement to shuffle folks to another country's prison. Somehow any "rationale" that our privately run detention facilities are just as bad, if not worse, than many persons seems a bit....iffy.

Linda, isn't this part of

the Boasburg hearings

and rulings, as well as

SCOTUS on due

process? I've also read

these "deportees" must

be advised in their

native language and

have an attorney who

speaks their language

present to advise them.

Guantanimo is open for

business, due to all the

arrests in CA. I read

today documented and

undocumented in CA

who pick the food the

nation eats, are not

showing up. The

strawberry crops are

rotting in the fields. Time

for all these MAGA folks

to do some back

breaking work and pick

those crops!

It is because the country they are landing in has the sovereignty to put them in prison because they are within their borders. And that country's sovereignty is not restricted by due process so they can put people into prison immediately for no reason (or for bad reasons). Or put it another way, it is because the county they are landing in is choosing to put them in prison.

This piece is so critical as we, as a society, are overwhelmed and think Garcia, Garcia, CECOT, CECOT, Qatar plane.

So, thank you for reminding us to never forget, I’ve started a notebook, with daily entries after reading stacks, motions, my own research, and it’s still hard, ALL the people being affected ALL the time and never let your eyes get off the ball.

That’s the overwhelm, the mentality of confusion that breeds frustration.

So, again, thank you. Where are they? This is why national injunctions must prevail but most likely won’t.

Also, does anyone find Barrett’s written piece 14 months ago a little too telling? Thanks for the great explanation on that also!!

Thanks for this summary. I remain outraged at the foot-dragging by the government in all of these cases. This executive deserves no deference because it gives none and it is not above the law.

Finally someone asks about the other deportees. Garcia is the tip of the iceberg. More distraction, tho, while the disastrous budget goes through. Report on the details of the budget as well as this administration's overreach.

"Trump administration provided even less process than was given to Nazis who the U.S. was seeking to depart during World War II" Worst is yet to come. Donald "The Beast" Trump is building a wall once again. Colossal tariff wall that is the beginning of the end for the system of down. At first the beast will pull the plug out of the global economy. The worst financial crisis of human history will pull a swarm of the banks underwater and the bank run begins. Then the beast will collapse a mountain of debt shattering the backbone of the monetary system causing a systemic risk to realize. Finally the beast will cast American citizens into a system slavery under the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan, just to "honor his legacy" count the number. After the destruction a new world order will be established in the US. And the Golden Age begins from the ruins of the world wide collapse. All of the system slaves will love it. No more cash - just digital transactions. No more traditional criminal activity. No more tax evasion. No more transactions without the "all seeing eye". Outcasts will hate the world without freedom, hope and privacy. To cover up the mess and distract the public by smoke and mirrors, the beast will engage in a war with Iran. Lies and deceit, corruption and decay, dancing on the graves will continue. Until; Black hole sun, won't you come, won't you come... I want to play a game. Time has come to opt out of the empire of filth. Live or die...
