I seem to recall that in the past when opinions are to be announced on argument dates, the square on the court calendar was split diagonally with half being yellow to so signify. Thanks for your response.

I do think it used to be more clear, yes. But, it is still announced. That said, I think that would have been pre-pandemic when they last had opinions on argument days. I'm not sure that they released opinions on argument days when the opinions were only being released online. It looks from the calendar that they used "Opinion Issuance Days" last term and they were not on argument days. Thus far this term, I only see "Non-argument Days" being used, but maybe we'll see use of "Opinion Issuance Days" at some point here.

I think it is worth noting that the Court seems to have abandoned its practice of announcing on its home page when it plans to issue opinions on a particular date. Today's opinion was announced without that advance notice. Did they provide any other form of notice?

On argument days, it can admittedly be difficult, but every Friday after conference, the "Today at the Court" section on the Supreme Court's website is updated on any date(s) when opinions are possible. On today's date, for example, it states in that section, "The Court may announce opinions, which are posted on the homepage after announcement from the Bench." At times without arguments, such as in June, it would be more easily noticeable because a "Non-argument Day" (a non-argument session of court) would be added for any date when opinions are possible.
