This court no longer deserves to be called “Supreme”. It is just a subsidiary of the Republican Party at this point not meriting any more respect than the cheapest committee of party hacks. Court reform ASAP - and I meanwhile will be lobbying my Virginia Senator and Delegate to gerrymander the f*** out of our state.

why do we allow them to be? the time for civility is gone. we will have the boots on our necks

What a joke the SC is-nothing more than McDonald trumps personal law firm -

As Alejandra Curable said “It's basically telling district court judges to abandon the law and become partisan hacks or else all their rulings will be overturned.”

Judges are already ticked off about being overturned, many times without even receiving an explanation. This Supreme Court majority has already abandoned our judicial system in favor of being MAGA puppets. Alito and Thomas should have been impeached and indicted.

Another lawless Shadow Docket decision.

“The District Court improperly inserted itself into an active primary campaign, causing much confusion and upsetting the delicate federal-state balance in elections.”

No. The District Court AND the Appellate acted in a judicially appropriate manner - following the law and Constitution.

Overturning not one but TWO well-reasoned lower court decisions, it is the State of Texas and Supreme Court that have interfered (in an primary campaign that has’t even started) and the Court, by lifting the stay, improperly granted Texas the right to implement a racially-based gerrymander that is both illegal and unconstitutional.

The six MAGA Supreme Court justices continue to usurp the Law and the Constitution in an effort to assure one party rule. Shameless and seditious.

then use your rights and amendment to stop those six.

Always appreciate your prompt and informed analysis. Once again, that pesky "benefit of the doubt" clause creeps into the SCOTUS decision on Texas. Why is it that the benefit of the doubt only applies to the MAGA interests?

It appears that the lower courts are consistently identifying instances where Trump's decisions does not align with the principles of our Constitution. The lower courts either put a stay or veto Trumps decisions. Then, Trump's request an emergency rebuttal of the lower courts decisions to the US Supreme Court and the six Conservative US Supreme Court Justices approve Trump's rebuttal that is against our constitution. In simple terms, our constitution and nation is in deep shit!.

The Supreme Court's disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law is now out in the open. Historians of the 21st century will note that John Roberts led the overthrow of the democratic government of what was once the United States. This specific decision makes a mockery of "all men are created equal." Time to toss the Declaration of Independence on the bonfire.

Trumpian disrespect and disdain for differing opinions is codified by this court … in an unsigned opinion yet.

So the Six Sock Puppets say it's okay to gerrymander. Got it. History will write a harsher judgment.

Isn't there at least ONE of the "conservative" — LOL! — majority that would stray from GOP orthodoxy and give credence to a lower-court decision that was a product of a well-researched, well-argued opinion? Not ONE?

Where, ffs, is our so-called "emerging swing vote", J. Coney Barrett? JFC, show some spine, already!

Cowardice and corruption are powerful agents. Incompetence added to the mix makes shitty opinions a slam-dunk.

How is a SCOTUS rubber stamp any better than a Biden autopen?

Ben Prickril's avatar

SCOTUS doesn’t even have an auto pen. It appears the majority consider themselves so highly that signatures are passé.

Like Trump, they think it … and so it is. Feet toucheth not the earth, pen not unto paper.

Once again, the despicably corrupt GQP6 on the Roberts' Kangaroo court prove that the law is irrelevant. The ONLY thing that matters is their cowardly partisan hackery.

The Kangaroo court needs to be actively, loudly, and frequently mocked for their clear partisan hackery.

Shameful.

It’s not a supreme court—it’s a corrupt criminal court and it needs to be stopped.

I’ve come to the realization that we’re f****d. I’ve tried everything to hold on to some shred of optimism.

The Supreme Court throughout America's history, with the exception of the Warren Court, has provided a legal basis for white preference in all aspects of American Life. The Robert's court is simply reaffirming that inequality and in doing so reflecting our founders' original intent....
