Thank you, Chris, for laying out the SPLC's argument for dismissal. The fact that we have a government attacking a non-profit like the SPLC is unbelievable. The civil war never truly ended.

Chris, I have a tangential question about Abrego Garcia. While the dismissal did a nice job of eviscerating the government's case -- I read the entire document -- it didn't say dismissed with prejudice, which really bothered me. Is the judge signaling they can try again with a different argument?

Excellent question . . . Hope Chris reads and responds...

Precisely the same problem we saw re: the James Comey indictment. As soon as it was dismissed, the idiots coughed out another one. Of course, although the gibbering madman in the Oval Office wants a victory (and hasn't gotten one yet), his intentions involving these vindictive indictments are retribution and authoritarian bullying.

This would not work anywhere else with any other criminal target. Why should it work for the SPLC? A defendant does not get charges dismissed by yelling “vindictive prosecution” because the prosecutor dislikes him, criticized him, or campaigned against his ideology. Try that with a cartel boss, a mafia crew, a fraud ring, or a J6 defendant and watch the judge laugh you out of court. But now the Southern Poverty Law Center wants special treatment because Trump’s DOJ allegedly has political motive. Fine. Then prove innocence on the merits. Political dislike is not immunity. The law applies equally, right?

Law applies equally is literally the basis for vindictive prosecutions causing cases to be thrown out. You cannot trust the evidence and testimonies aren’t tainted if they aren’t being brought for the right reasons.

Oh, horseshit. Meritless, frivolous lawsuits get thrown out with prejudice EVERY. SINGLE. DAY, which has an excellent chance of happening to tRUMP’s meritless, frivolous attack on the SPLC.

SPLC does great work.

Eighty-Six Forty-Seven.

The Convicted Criminal Donald Trump is physically, intellectually, cognitively, ethically, and morally unfit to perform the duties of President of the United States. His recent criminal acts—those committed in the last fifteen months—are being covered up by the billionaire oligarchs who own him, by his criminal family, by his incompetent Cabinet, by Fascist Republican Members of Congress, and by the hopelessly corrupt Supreme Court.

It is an irrefutable fact that Donald Trump’s Fascist Presidency is opposed by 67% of Americans. This supermajority will not rest until Donald Trump and his Fascist enablers are removed from office, prosecuted for treason, convicted and thrown into prison.

Is there any agency or cabinet office in the Trump regime that is not corrupt, inept, or both?
