Can a judge just write “No” and send it back to DOJ?

Kathy Hughes's avatar

They can issue an order which essentially says no and denies the motion.

ASB's avatar

I suggest "No*" with the following footnote: "*Counsel for Defendant are hereby remanded to the appropriate State Bar association for disbarment and penalty."

And a full psych evaluation to determine if they are competent to practice law.

How about "lol no."

Better question is can a judge write are you f'ng crazy? NO!

Hmm, an extension of Trump’s legal filings in the documents case—political manifesto interspersed with mangled legal jargon.

Howlin Wolfe's avatar

It’s a . . . style?

David J. Sharp's avatar

A pattern, certainly—big words to cover lack of comprehension … or anything of value.

The fact that a lawyer, even a Trump lawyer, would cite Trump Derangement Syndrome as a medical condition that actually exists is enough for a judge to see how ridiculous this is.

Brianna Amore's avatar

Welcome to the DOJ under the boot licking sycophant known as Todd Blanche. You thought Pam Bondi was bad?

ASB's avatar

She was incompetent and dangerous; Blanche is smart and truly dangerous.

This sounds like it was written by a lunatic, or maybe by Trump himself. Anyone who votes to approve this monstrosity, Republican or Democrat needs to be thrown out of office. It's a blight on the White House perpetrated by probably the most tasteless president in our history.

Dotty Hopkins's avatar

Exactly, but tax payer money and Congressional will will be needed to try and put back the destroyed building that was the East Wing. It's just so sad and discouraging.

Andy Reed's avatar

Not necessarily. If there are sufficient civil and criminal suits against Trump, his two dimwit sons, his son-in-law and daughter, for their graft and corruption, such as the most recent 25-million-dollar contract that Eric supposedly earned for "his" arms company, I would hope and dream that the damages to be paid back to the government and the people of the United States would be in the billions of dollars, enough to destroy whatever part of the ballroom has been put up and replaced the East Wing.

Jared selling out the US to Saudi butcher MBS for $2 billion, Ivanka's Chinese contracts, the sale of pardons -- just to scratch the surface -- could bring a windfall after the revolution.

I wish I had your faith in justice.

Reading the excepts made me feel like I was reading a terrible high school persuasive essay from a bad English student. ...maybe not even high school level. I can only imagine Trump learning over the idiot writing this, backseat driving this farce of a filing by demanding "improvements" to the already logicless wording. How embarrassing.

Dotty Hopkins's avatar

Or a scribe just copied one of his TS postings. No one describes him in such glowing terms as Trump describes himself

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

I actually think you might be right. It is very possible Blanche took it to Trump to get his approval then Trump gave his usual edit. It does sound so Trumpian! After all, not only was he Trump's personal lawyer which would make it natural for Blanch to show it to Trump, but Blanch wants to be Attorney General so badly, that he can probably taste it.

How many years have we been waiting for the “Have you no shame sir?” moment to finally stick? Maybe this is as good a time as any to use it in a reply pleading referencing a factual record?

mfmatusky's avatar

But he doesn't have any shame.

That's what I get for staying up past midnight. Thanks,

Took the words right out of my mouth 😂

These idiots are beyond the so called spectrums! Psychological terminology is useless!

Any lawyer who put his name on this childish drivel should be hauled up in front of the D.C. Bar and told to explain what basis there is for this unprofessional rant which appears to warrant sanctions for unprofessional conduct and the filing of a baseless motion.

Kathy Hughes's avatar

At the very least, the judge could consider sanctioning Blanche and the other attorneys for filing a frivolous brief and motion.

Every time I hear someone accuse others of having “Trump Derangement Syndrome”, I hear a child complaining that their teacher hates them as the reason for a punishment or scolding.

For the love of ... Well, sanity, common sense, intelligence and even just average smarts, how in the world did these people come to be considered "elites"? Or to be in charge of this country? Trump is NOT a successful businessman, he's an adult toddler, a spoiled brat, a narcissistic fool. Successful businessmen don't claim bankruptcy SIX TIMES on other people's money.

If he's successful at anything, it's got to be 🐂💩ing and being a crook.

Larry Erickson's avatar

"Successful businessmen don't claim bankruptcy SIX TIMES on other people's money."

Actually, that's the best way to declare bankruptcy. :-)

And as long as the suckers keep investing, he'll keep peddling the BS, grabbing whatever profits he can before it does under, and letting others take the losses. He's still doing it.

ZeroChaos 80's avatar

Okay, you got me on the bankruptcy part mostly. But he cost not just investors. He cost average people at least half their retirements. Just because a thing can be done doesn't mean it doesn't make the person doing it a crook.

And you also got me on him continuing to peddle his BS. Before his second term, I was the person who would say something to the effect of "They can't do that because the Constitution says...". However, after watching his administration tell lie after lie, ignore Constitutional restraints, exploit loopholes, and basically destroy everything they put their nasty hands on, I've discovered something else. Most Americans are ill informed, unable to do the simplest bit of fact checking, and perfectly fine with remaining in the position of ignorant government bobbleheads because they enjoy complacency. They are also (a good portion anyway) hypocrites. They believe in freedom as long as it's their idea of free, they believe in family as long as it is their version of family, and just like there is no honor among thieves, they believe in limiting the government only when it's THEIR safety at risk.

So, he managed to almost completely destroy my faith in my country and my fellow man. I'm glad to see others actually see his crap too.

The most amateurish, contumacious filing I’ve seen in 40 years of litigation practice.

Brianna's avatar

"Contumacious" -- nice!

Michael Volpe's avatar

Did Trump write this?

Amateur hour in the Nation's capital.

Louise Purfield-Coak's avatar

We are now in the second year of Amateur Hour, and the natives are getting restless! Is anyone here joining joining the National Strike and Boycott on May 1st? I am going to not purchase a single thing on Friday. Being retired, I don't have to worry about skipping work.

Shelley Powers's avatar

Wow. I mean...wow.

Good golly.

Damn.

Thank YOU for sharing this. I would not have missed it for the world.

I needed a laugh today.

These f'ing people! This whole f'ing thing! How has this insanity gotten this far?

Know what else couldn't have taken place at the ballroom? The WHCD b/c there were approx 2400 people and the beloved ballroom will only hold 1000. Also, it is not a WH event, so they can hold it wherever they want. If DJT doesn't feel safe, don't go. Facts matter. Truth matters.
