Not pointedly ironic, I guess (for irony is often too subtle) that DoJ whines about “the lower courts’ persistent disregard” of SCOTUS stays … when DoJ disregards those same courts’ rulings.

I have to assume that the SCOTUS cons realize they've made a right mess of this, and not only didn't issue the stay—which makes no sense, when you consider preserving the status quo should be the norm—but realize they have to untangle this screwed up ball of legal yarn sooner rather than later.
