The attacks on Adeel Mangi’s nomination give way to appalling cowardice from a trio of Democratic senators. Also: The next Supreme Court argument sitting is a big one.
Too many important cases, but yeah that was my thinking even with the others later. This one might serve to weaken the NLRB... which could then help the other cases weaken it even more.
I live in Nevada and I am deeply disappointed that both my U.S. Senators refuse to support his nomination. I wrote to them last month asking them to support Mr. Mangi's nomination, and after reading your newsletter, I wrote to them asking them to reconsider their non-support. I hope they do. Thank you for your time and hard work on Law Dork.
Im not a lawyer.......why would SCOTUS agree to hear Grants Pass?? If they already lost previously on appeal, this case doesn't seem substantial or broad enough for SCOTUS to take it up. Does SCOTUS have an ulterior motive? ( because I deeply mistrust the majority)
Thank you Chris for SCOTUS court calendar and run up on
each case.
Starbucks v McKinney is also quite important because unions and the NLRB.
You got me to add it up there once I got home, so thank you. ;-)

Totally. It’s not the same as the other attacks on the NLRB that I’ve been covering, but it is a case of note.

The city argues it conflicts with an Eleventh Circuit decision, but the challengers say otherwise.
Well said on the Mangi appointment. And there's no political reason for the three Democrats being cowards.
Thank you for staying on top of all of this.
The confirmation hearing was a nice duo of a Jew and a Muslim, one of whom was confirmed already. The other should be as well.
Anyway, let's see what opinions will come this Friday.
