My oldest son was Gay. He passed away 2 years ago. Through him, I came to have a deep respect for the wonderful, intelligent men and women who make the whole Gay community such a vibrant society.Leave them alone. All of them. No matter what part/segment of the Pride community they choose. Leave them alone.

Nothing like a prosecutor who disregards court orders.

I suspect that one way to make him fall on his ass is to have the parade, rainbow flags flying, signs a-waving, with everyone dressed in the most flamboyant way that is still in keeping with their "biological sex." And what would happen if a large bunch of WOMEN dressed up in massive "drag?"

A lawsuit stopping him would be better. But absent that the organizers could really make him look like a fool.

I'm in. Can you rally a large group of women? I'll even bring all my makeup. I've had makeup lessons from some of the most popular queens on TikTok. (They should bring their own mascara.)

Would that I could, but Tennessee is a long way from Seattle.

Good luck with the parade.

Blue Jeans wearing pastor here. We'll be in the Clayton Center hosting a table. Y'all stop by, say hello, get a free PRIDE pin and copy of the Beatitudes. Let us tell you about our church, our short-term transitional housing mission for the homeless, our Second Sunday Community Church service at The Bird and The Book, and how we're working to find ways to serve and heal all the folks Brewer, Peters, Locke, Pulliam, & Desmond demonize. It's what Jesus would do. ;)

Also, and hopefully Chris Geidner will see this. That statute by including "worship houses" tramples all over MY religious freedom and that of my congregation. So they can all stuff that statute.

So, what's this jerk hoping for, another Lake Arrowhead shooting? More incitement to violence? Where are the restraints to such behavior that could only precipitate yet more hideous actions by far-right extremists? And, why now? What in the past 2-3 years has catalyzed this frenzied "anti-drag", anti-LGBTQ terrorism? Red states gone off the rails, bloody hell.

I just subscribed. Thanks for your reporting on LGBTQ issues. It would be great if you could look into how the Center for Christian Virtue is promoting this legislation in Ohio? Who are they? How much influence do that have on legislation? From a very concerned Ohio grandma.

Thanks for subscribing. Sadly, as a Buckeye, I'm far too familiar with CCV. They've been doing anti-LGBTQ work in Ohio since before I came out (albeit before they made a name change). Here's an extensive, though slightly more rose-colored and "both-sides"-y than I would prefer, article on them from a few years back, though I'll certainly re-visit things if it comes together for me at some point. https://www.dispatch.com/story/news/politics/2021/11/29/center-for-christian-virtue-plans-columbus-building-purchase-renovation/6182471001/

I’m posting this in case the Dumb Ass DA at the home state of Bourbon didn’t know this;

Drag = a type of entertainment where people dress up and perform, often in highly stylized ways. The term originated as British theater slang in the 19th century and was used to describe women’s clothing worn by men.

Apparently if the above happens it will cause those in attendance to run home put on their wives clothes and then run back to the stage and perform their own song and dance routine. Fucking right wing wackos are out to destroy our democracy by any means necessary. Sorry Senator Graham you and your date will have to find another performance to attend. It’s hard to believe that the residents of Republican run States do not understand or don’t care that the decision makers in their state want to take it back to the 1950’s. Gays not allowed yes Senator they mean you, women can’t own property or get credit in their name only and at the head of their wet dream for the REST of HIS LIFE will be the newest autocratic leader in the world Donald John Trump, Sr. If the thought of this happening to our Country and the loss of your freedoms, your liberties your rights if you just flat don’t give a fuck what happens to you or the other 300 million Americans then fine I and others will wave goodbye as we spread to the wind.
