Judge Beryl Howell -DDC - has been doing absolutely heroic work in upholding our Constitution against the depredations of tRump & co. for several years now, and in no understated fashion. Long may she continue to defend the rights of all citizens who run afoul of petty fascism from the likes of the Orange Felon and his Rasputin, Elno.

It’s chillingly ironic that the person who spent 4 years moaning (falsely IMO) about how the legal system had been weaponised against him lost no time at all in weaponising it against others, even those against whom he has no personal gripe.

Everything Trump falsely complains about or accuses others of is some form of criminal/unconstitutional action he himself is either doing or intends to do.

The now-familiar *projection*, of which tRump is a world-class practitioner.

Exactly. If Trump says someone else is doing something nefarious, Trump is doing it himself.

I never understood why during the election Republicans voters seemed to think the solution to the perceived weaponizing of the justice system was through more weaponization of the justice system.

Of course it's not that simple but it's an irony.

Authoritarian personality types and narcissists understand cynicism ONLY. Irony, sardonicism, and sarcasm are largely wasted upon them. They simply lack the cognitive and or emotional infrastructure required to comprehend, process, and appreciate those more nuanced modes of human communication.

Like cats, the closest they can come to comprehending irony is to assume you're trash talking about them in some clever liberal way they can't quite grasp, and they stalk off in a huff and then drop a deuce on your pillow.

Cats do this sometimes, too.

"PERSONAL VENDETTA" At last a judge has a nerve to tell it like it is... All of Trumps lawsuits against anyone, anywhere, any situation is caused by Trump's personal vendetta. Like, I have said many times... Trump is a dispicable and malicious man!

Holy Smokes 😱 it's shocking to see trump's attorneys going after established law firms because of some sick vendetta he has toward them??! It's like I woke up one morning and was living in Hungry or Moscow. Thanks for breaking this down for us this evening, and will reStack ASAP 💯👍

Isn't this whole EO an unconstitutional bill of attainder in violation of Article 1, section 9 of the Constitution?

It would be if it were a law passed by Congress.

Ok but an executive order targeting a person or legal entity is still a “bill of attainder” as defined and prohibited under art 1 section 9, isn’t it? It’s not like there’s a huge amount of modern precedent I guess.

A bill of attainder is a legislative act, not one by the executive. The procedure developed in 16th century England, and it was always a parliamentary act even if Parliament was prompted by the Crown. Wikipedia has a rather extensive discussion about it.

When a lawyer approves or defends such a blatantly unconstitutional order, that lawyer should face sanctions either from the court or the Bar.

The courts are our last great hope in the government to stop Trump's retaliation against his enemies. Thank goodness for Judge Beryl Howell. Trump's lawyers use national security the way most people say, "Have a nice day." It is time for citizens to take back their rights and democracy by all means possible before POTUS and his cronnies complete their coup. Thank you for educating me on the decision in this case.

Is there a way to get a copy of the transcript without buying it from Pacer? I've checked all the free docket sites I know of and all of them have a link to Pacer. The courts belong to the people; the *complete* record of their proceedings belong to us, too.
