It's been more than a month now since President Donald Trump unleashed soldiers on the nation's capital. A lawsuit challenging their presence is moving forward, slowly.
I am beginning to believe the election was actually stolen through Elon Musk and his starling system. I do not believe that the majority of voters cast ballots only for Donald Trump, ignoring the down ballot races.
Clair, the only reason Trump won the first time was because the electoral college gave it to him. Hillary won the popular vote. So, Trump has only prevailed one time. Having said that,I am inclined to agree with you that Musk's Starlink may have had something to do with that.
The photo does not look like these guys are patrolling "crime ridden streets". They are sauntering like tourists. The point is just to keep people used to the military who will never leave. A police state, beholden only to felonpotus.
The DC Guard's legally-limited deployment is over unless Congress extends it -- which so far they've been disinclined to do.
Their command needs to end this charade and let them return to their daily lives, their families, their jobs.
As for the red-state Guard carpetbaggers, Trump's rationale for sending the Guard to LA has already been repudiated by the courts. This is no different. They too should leave.
Keep in mind that there’s a lot of evidence that vote suppression of racialized people was what resulted in the election going the way it did. It wasn’t election theft per se, since they didn’t do anything strictly illegal, but it was a result of laws put into place in red states specifically to disenfranchise people and disqualify their votes en masse. While it may have been (strictly speaking) legal, it was still ethically wrong and resulted in many USian voters unfairly losing their votes for being Black, Indigenous, etc.
