It was said by many, shortly after tRump was elected, that whatever grand "stratageries" or 900.-page "blueprint" for the MAGA agenda has been prepared, the man not only induces chaos, but - perversely - enjoys it, and that despite all the talk about tRump 2.0 reconstructing itself as a well-oiled machine, the FUBAR potential is baked in, and will sooner rather than later manifest itself.

Well, thanks to repeated own-goals by Elno and his Seven Dwarfs, the expected has indeed happened: chaos reigns, the administration is in hyper-FUBAR mode, tRump has checked out golfing, people are leaking stuff with abandon, court dockets are bursting with lawsuits, and that well-oiled machine has taken on buckets-full of sand in the gears.

Do we relax now? Not a bit of it, take it to them and don't let up, ffs!

For heaven’s sake—MAGA had four years to plan their divestment of laws, policies and even the Constitution, and they came on like gangbusters … or rather, the gang that couldn’t shoot straight.

This is the Master Race? This is proof of white superiority? Get a real job, Elon!

Too true. Might as well buy a country … you know, something to do.

With so many conflicting directives, it's hard to know which to follow.

I had intentionally excluded that, although I was thinking of it when I wrote that this is "not the end of this," because I read that memo significantly differently than Marisa seems to, FWIW. She doesn't address the last sentence of the first paragraph at all. (I also don't know what the timing of this is — to your latter point.) [Update: I did add the memo in as a link to "this" and Trump's Monday comments as a link to "not."]

All this 5 bullet stuff reminds me of those early key word searches — the main tool of people too important to think for themselves. Just bring the checklist, I got better things to do!

Reminds me of “Management Consulting 101”: writing generic training manuals for managers.(But it looks like a parody)—killing any impulse for collaboration. I’d advise them to QUIT, because life UNDER Shit managers is SHIT.

Thanks for this piece. Good to have it one place. I'm spending the last three minutes before the deadline here commenting on your piece rather than responding. Just jotted down some thoughts on why I wasn't going to do it: https://notesontheputsch.substack.com/p/on-maggies-farm.

He's an unelected advisor, per one assertion in a court of law. No statutory authority to demand anything or act upon it. Seems like that should be the story - how does one like him get the emails of everyone and have the ability to send such a message, the clear instructions to ignore it.

As an attorney federal judges such as Judge Reyes regularly dress down lawyers make it difficult to do the job and display their bias. The judicial complaint will not be successful in front of the chief judge of the DC circuit so liberal as to not only live his bias but rule for it. Fortunately the dc judge doesn’t have the last say and contrary to this article the complaint is both well founded and timely. If only I could file these regularly against the mostly magistrates I appear in front of. Unfortunately neither federal judges or magistrates learn from mistakes but mostly take it out on any lawyer so brave as to file a formal complaint against her outrageous actions and opinions. She will be thankfully overturned by the Supreme Court as she should be. Otherwise federal judges control both our society and our lives.

The old fascists were clerically competent, keeping accurate written records organised inside the Stasi building according to Dewey Decimal, top shelves holding the files of the most dangerous/rebellious citizens. Our fascists can't even write a competent memo. .... "Please tell on your coworkers, before they tell on you! .. (next day) Why isn't anyone telling on coworkers! That makes us look bad, like you're ignoring us! Guess what! No one was ever asked to tell on a coworker! Alternative facts! They change daily! Contact Kellyanne Conway for today's facts! They're a secret, until Kellyanne speaks!"

I didn't get it either and asked ChatGPT to explain it, which said, it basically means to "assume the worst is true". The tie in is that, one of the confusing memos Chris references told employees to respond to Musk's email, but not to put certain information in it, and basically issue that it will be read by foreign bad actors (that being the worst case scenario they were being told to assume)
