Not only is the expanded role of the shadow docket alarming … also the amount of “emergencies” it addresses. What a sad world this has become when justice stops after Trump stubs a toe.

I just don't get it, I mean what is the end game here? This administration seems bent on breaking things just to break things. There is no substantial savings and any savings that could be tallied is rendered moot with the wildly exorbitant spending so far. It's truly bananas to be living in a badly written 90s comedy with no good ending.

My take?

This is revenge. The country didn't vote for Trump in 2020, so he's burning it all down, while having a mad crazy time trying to transform the White House into some kind of permanent Trump monument.

And this actually makes more sense than the more likely reason that Trump is the dumbest man on the planet being manipulated by people who think They Have the One Right Way...and the one right way is tear it all down, because humans do better in isolated, armed enclaves.

They think, for various reasons, that a lot of Americans don't deserve to live, and they are enacting policies that would lead to that end, to 'let nature take its course'. That's why so many of us compare them to the Third Reich.

If the Roberts Court didn't have Trump's back, the lower courts judges would have stopped at least 40 percent of his mischief. He could never have gotten away with the destruction of the last seven months if we had possessed a non-corrupt Court. How many lives have they and he ruined? Monsters.

We may not survive the next few years, but at least the MAGAs won't either, what with all the disease, pollution, climate catastrophe, and unsafe products that are about to be unleashed upon the US.

There aren't enough words to describe the harm that the SCOTUS cons have inflicted on the country, other than to point to Trump and say " times a hundred".

There are no responsible adults in charge anymore. The three sane, reasonable members of SCOTUS do their best, but they're outgunned. And Congressional Republicans have abdicated their responsibility in fear and fealty to a man who doesn't have the mental capacity of a gnat.

Steve Vladeck wrote yesterday about the inconsistency or hypocritical actions of the Justice Kavanaugh, specifically in his concurrence with the NetChoice ruling last week.

While we can chalk up Kavanaugh's inconsistencies to shotgunning too many brewskis, there is no excuse for the cabal of MAGA extremist's deference to the Trump Administration other than malevolent intent. Boyle v. Trump is a case in point: clearly, protecting the lives of millions of Americans outweighs an illegal and unconstitutional Executive Order yet here we are.

I covered Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair under Obama and Trump 1. CPSC officials based in Beijing always gave presentations to educate manufacturers. Wonder if they’re still doing that or even if all were fired.
