Oh those poor manufacturers of ghost gun parts--having to put serial numbers on the parts and be otherwise governed by the same rules that regular dealers are. The EXPENSE! What will happen to their stock? Who cannot feel the pain of their shareholders, who can deal with the pain of the USE of those guns by muttering "thoughts and prayers."

As an American and an Ohioan I’m experiencing double trauma from the anti democratic policies at the state level and the national level. This didn’t begin with trump. He simply allowed the flood gates to open. We keep wringing our hands and chattering how awful things are all the while we’re heading towards complete authoritarianism. History repeats itself, but our children will not be allowed to read about it. God help us.

I definitely agree it didn’t begin with Trump, but I do think there’s an element of Trumpism, as you suggest, that encourages some of the worst instincts — and leads to some of the worst outcomes.

Agree. The endless examples playing out in the House and Senate that threaten our national security are agonizing. The Republicans in the House seem hell bent on destroying each other with little concern for the consequences for the Constitution they swore to support and defend. In the Senate, it’s no better. The likes of Tuberville holding up military promotions, Vance holding up DOJ nominees, or Grassley holding up the nomination of Deputy Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Rand Paul had a 2 month hold on State Department nominees he recently released. Exactly how is any of this in the interest of national security or law and order? How is this supporting and defending the Constitution? Excuse me, I’m chattering and wringing my hands.

Hi Chris! Not a lawyer so I’m trying to figure out the ruling from the SC. The case is about the manufacturing of ghost guns, which can’t be traced? And the court is saying that they believe the 5th circuit was wrong? Also I live in Ohio so I’m aware of the many shortcomings of Jim Jordan. God help us all if he were to become speaker. So many people in congress only care about their next election and not what happens to all Americans if this rabid dog takes the gavel! Appreciate your work.

While a challenge to the administration’s rule regulating “ghost guns” is ongoing, they can enforce it. Judge O’Connor and the Fifth Circuit have been trying to issue rulings preventing the enforcement of the rule while the case is ongoing. SCOTUS said no to those lower courts.
