Even though I'm a scientist and educator, I am a law dork. Same for history. I'm not sure how I feel knowing that at least two SCOTUS justices are, for lack of a better term, corrupt. Not surprised. Also, a Chief Justice essentially says that his court is indeed upper crust and removed from us, the commoners.

I am not naive that the court has operated in this way for a very long time. I am not so sure what we know is quite that common. These are massive, luxurious gifts that exceed the salaries of the justices in some cases. And then to find out that these donor/friends had business even tangentially related before the court?

C’mon. This is corruption of the highest order. In a functioning democracy of, by, and for the people, these justices would be impeached and removed from the bench. In addition to being investigated for any financial malfeasance.
