Has DeSantis ever done anything that wasn't part of his psychopathic march towards fascism? https://samray.substack.com/p/the-desantis-variant-a-psychological

Cynbel Terreus's avatar

No because he is definitely a massive fascist, he's very much good friends with Orban and wants to implement whaat Hungary has done here.

Sam Ray's avatar

I don’t doubt Ron wants to copy Orban but he has zero friends except Casey.

I’ve lived in Florida for over a decade now and it keeps getting worse with not only the republicans in government but the republicans who are overwhelmingly supportive of these changes. If it weren’t for my job, I’d leave. I used to love it here. Now I can’t stand it.

He is the very model of a perfect vice president. If it is the will of theprople to elect him he can then decide that there will be no further such thing as the will of the people.

Especially since he would probably 25th Amendment tffg within the first year, which while funny as Hell on one hand would be just Hell on the other. Maybe we should start that rumor now, tffg is showing signs of paranoia, timing's good.

Has there been a day, in the last month, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24 months that a Red State has not usurped some right/rights of its citizens....

Has there been a day, in the last year (or 10) that any rule of law that has been changed, rewritten or decided by SCOTUS that has not usurped some right/rights of US citizens....

This is a serious inquiry as I believe, with each passing day, another right of we the majority, has been removed.

You aren't wrong, it's been their long game and now within reach, all eyes should be on SCOTUS because that's it.

Funny how the Republicans see no issue with convicted felon and domestic terrorist Don Dumpster being on the ballot, but Ron fires prosecutors because they won't support death penalty or waste time in court over a bit of marijuana or hire investigators to find out if some 17 year old drove out of state for an abortion or had the abortion pill delivered to her home.

Textbook fascism!

Unbelievable & dispiriting

One possible effect of this approach is that the people will come out in their droves to re-elect the sacked prosecutors. Another is that they will give up voting thinking it’s a waste of time. Hopefully they will do the former but I fear that a lot of voters will simply be so dispirited that they stay at home.

It's either an elected position or it's not. Since it is, this is just so wrong.

The people of Florida have a choice. Vote out his enabling statehouse republicans and vote in Democratics who will stop his fascist regime or live with it.

KingRayVet's avatar

Well, this is why I call him DeSatan. That guy is insufferable. Glad I don't live down there, but I feel bad for all decent-minded Floridians. They need to oust that fucker on his head.

I believe (contend) that Secession has been in the heart of the Southern Oligarchs since they lost the Civil War. It’s been passed on and planned since the first plans for secession pre- civil war.

If they, the overly restrictive Red States, don’t secede, they sure have put into place a pretty solid takeover of the US.

I so want to know and hear what our plan is (Dems and other like-minded citizens) for going forward after the election regardless of who wins. Will we Dems accept the “Red Rule?” How will we manage the terroristic Republican insurgency regardless of the election outcomes.

What the hell is the plan?

Lynn's avatar

Register Democrats. Push the vote. Knock on doors. Mail postcards.

If you Sit on the sidelines, you shouldn’t complain.

Debbie's avatar

I hope I didn’t misunderstand you so I decided to try and respond. Complaining? Sitting on the sidelines? Nope. I Engage in all of your “suggestions” for many Democrat/progressive candidates inside and outside of my locality and have done so for 30+ years. Not complaining- just asking questions. Thanks.

Lynn's avatar

Good to hear. Keep up the fight.

I certainly understand the frustration.

I hope if the Dems somehow win all of Congress and the WH, they address SCOTUS reforms. It’s way way past time.

Oh I get it. I live in the backwater state of Ohio. THE most corrupt state in the union. Our speaker is in prison. Our statehouse is under investigation. We are illegally gerrymandered and the GQP have an illegal supermajority.

But last year, we organized, we mailed postcards, we phoned, we got Roe on the ballot and beat back the states corrupted AG attempt to change our constitution. We won twice and now we’re putting gerrymandering on the ballot. It will pass.

All I’m saying is don’t give up. Fight back. It’s your state too.

We should all be scared. The Federalist Society, the heritage foundation and assorted religious, fanatic billionaires have corrupted SCOTUS.

Biden should have instituted reforms when he had the House. Blown up the damn filibuster and got it done.

That’s my biggest disappointment with Joe. He still wears rose colored glasses. To the detriment of us all.

Jasmine- I just watched Rachel Maddow’s show. What is going on in Georgia is downright scary. There’s an article in Rolling Stone that illuminates TFG’s minions taking over the voting process. They are making certification very difficult in every way possible, The title of the article is “Georgia is our laboratory”.

This the state that actually stood up to TFG.

Not anymore.

People love the south. That is why so many people are moving there. it's not the hell hole that you think it is. The best part is, if you don't like it, you're free to leave. We do not try to trap people here like California does with wealth tax.

Lynn's avatar

There’s just as many people leaving Florida as moving to Florida.

If DeStalin really wanted to actually help them, he’d get involved in the unaffordable home insurance for his state but sure beat up on women, gays and elected prosecutors. It’s so mucj easier than doing his damn job.

Join an organization to register Democrats. Knock on doors, mail postcards or make phone calls.

No one is coming to save you.
