What kind of recourse do we have for a SC like this? Everything they’re up to is so blatantly partisan, unconstitutional and unconscionable.

That is just awful. Cruelty is the point with this administration and the Supreme Court seems to like it. Someday I hope they can reap what they sow.

The Robert’s Kangaroo court has jumped the shark in this one. There is no plausible defense for such a brazenly partisan, cowardly, and just plain wrong decision. His court needs to be mocked on every opportunity as stacked with an incompetent, partisan majority that is determined to destroy the rule of law in this country.

Horrifying feels like an understatement, but I'm out of words at this point. What a vile, vile group the majority comprises.

I really don't believe it's the "majority" at all, regardless of November 2024 election results.

I wasn't clear, sorry. I meant the court majority.

This is literally a Gestapo/SS ruling, if I am reading correctly?

Outrageous. This isn’t a fair and balanced court any longer. It’s an arm of the Trump regime. I fear Nazism will be repeating itself. Has already started.

It hasn't been a "fair and balanced court" for a long time. The corrupt 2000 scotus installed George W., who rewarded Roberts work on the 2000 election case, by crowning him chief justice and then Alito was confirmed about a year later in 2006. Two of the most corrupt people ever to soil the court. And add Clarence to that list, too.

I’m absolutely floored that SC justices are so inept and partisan in their rulings. How dare they 😡😡

Who needs a developed record, due process, reasoned opinions when you can simply do this with a solid anything Trump does is fine majority

Simply unspeakable. The six conservatives have given Trump free range to rid this country of “immigrants”—read, brown skinned people here legally or not. Next up, a sanctioned killing field? A repeal of hate crimes? Resegregation?

I wouldn't put anything past this administration's ambitions. The Roberts Court again shows that its inkhorn legalism trumps its consideration of consequences. It's long been in a death spiral to being the worst Court we've ever had.

Indeed! Rivals the Taney court. Roberts, you may recall, worked in the Reagan (“Welfare Queen”) DoJ.

So the question I want to know is "Why?" Why would the conservative justice decide this way?

I know you wrote that they didn't include any information, so we can only guess. But I'd love your thoughts.

This decision makes me sick.

Because they believe all of us who are not them are heathens and our lives are worth less than theirs. Karma is going to smack them hard.

Ghastly decision. Will go down as one of the worst Supreme Court decisions in American history. And every single one of them will be known as those who colluded with the dictator and facilitated the dismantling of American democracy. Benedict Arnold, all of them. We must fight this. Do you hear, Democrats in leadership? You must fight this instead of lukewarm, spineless replies. Get into the office and expand the court! We are ready to fight for you, please fight for us!

Unfortunately, yes. What's interesting is they don't seem to understand their time will come. Dismantling of the justice system is already underway, as it's always been in every dictatorship. They will no longer be needed and even those who have shown complete loyalty will be discarded.
