Hurray for Judge Boasberg. He's proven to be a formidable and doughty opponent of tyranny

This regime has been in contempt since the inauguration

Nice to note that, at least at the lower court level, some judges are neither persuaded nor cowed by Trumpian histrionics.

Excellent news. In contempt and contemptible.

God bless Judge Boasberg. The whole system depends on judges with integrity like this.

Excellent. I hope someone cites the recent HRW report on the treatment the kidnapped Venezualen nationals endured at CECOT. The US is 100% complicit in their torture. https://www.hrw.org/report/2025/11/12/you-have-arrived-in-hell/torture-and-other-abuses-against-venezuelans-in-el

I wonder if there’s any world in which Bove gets impeached. If we also assume he’s hit with criminal contempt since he can’t purge a civil contempt order any longer I wonder if that moves the needle.

Mea culpa. I apologize to everyone for being impolite and causing stress. Also, I appreciate the work that Geidner is doing to keep us informed.

Thank you Chris. A lot to

keep up with and track

these days.

While the government can’t purge its contempt in the sense of having the keys to its cell, there are certainly compensatory actions available—attorneys’ fees at a minimum. Even some form of apology should be on the table.

Please proofread before posting. What was this meant to mean?: “…due to the fact that the purge option in Boasberg’s original “probable cause“ order the primary concern voiced by Judge Neomi Rao in her D.C. Circuit opinion in the appeal.”

It's been updated. (You could just ask if you notice an error, like most people do. I do proofread, but I am also a human, working alone, and do occasionally miss things.)

Didn’t mean to sound harsh. And I had intended to thank you for your work before I made my criticism. Sorry that i left that out. .You also had the option to respond differently, as my comment was ultimately helpful to the clarity of your work. You okay? I Hope so.

So close.

Dude, no, dial it back a few notches. I read your first comment and thought "Someone's in a bad mood." You might not have intended to sound rude, but you absolutely did. FYI - qualified apologies suck. "I'm sorry, but I was right" is still rude. Next time, try "I'm sorry for sounding rude. Thank you for responding to my concern."

I stumbled there too and couldn't quite figure it out.

Susan V's avatar

I think it should be *was* the primary concern.

I had to read it three times to figure it out.

Yes, that’s correct. I think I made it more clear above now. (Beyond fixing the error.)
