And can we please get rid of the Ronald Reagan appointed judges? George H. Bush ones too. Rhetorical question. I nearly fell off my couch when I read that there are still sitting judges appointed by Ronald Reagan. We need term limits badly.

My gosh - do these people not have something else better to do with their life, no hobbies, grandkids, RV trips, golfing, canasta, woodworking, etc.

The Texas floating barrier case took an interesting turn after the Fifth Circus handed down its recent en banc decision—a Very Special Hearing before district judge Ezra about an ex parte letter written to the court of appeals by a senior official in the Texas SG’s office. Hope you’ll be delving into that.

Harris may need to win by a landslide to counteract R attempts to mess with election results. Democracy Now did a good story on the Pro Publica story about the Project 2025 training videos. Great point most cases don’t make it to the Supremes…. I worked on one of the first ones to go sideways because of them, totally off precedent, and felt badly for the attorneys involved. It was so stupid. Plus, the symbolism undermines the credibility of the legal system (such as it’s been). The last ten years have been crazy town.

Various reasons why Democrats have to deal with a 6-3 Supreme Court.

Lower courts over the last fifty years provided more chance for balance, back to the days of Carter, who like Biden also put extra effort in to provide diversity.

I’m confused— you say two thirds are women, but in the next paragraph you say two of every five, which would be forty percent. Maybe I’m missing something—could you possibly clarify?

About 2/3 of all appointees are women. 2/5 of all appointees are women of color.

So, ~roughly~ 2/3 of the women nominees are women of color and ~roughly~ 1/3 of the women nominees are white.

I’ve “liked” this because that’s the only choice but it makes me mad that any woman is required to go through such pain and suffering to appease the lunatics who think these laws save babies. Of course they do the opposite as fewer babies are going to be born as a result. Maternal and child mortality is rising and their answer is to stop counting.

What boggles my mind is some of these pregnant women didn’t get proper medical attention even in Blue states. Being pregnant in America at the moment is really bad for your health!
