'[W]e don't go around just creating independent agencies. More often we destroy independent agencies.”'

I love our liberal judges.

I know this is scary with RFK Jr, but it would be worse if SCOTUS went against this. RFK Jr won't be around forever (and if Hegseth is an indication, maybe not even until the end of the year) but a SCOTUS decision would be.

Or not, since SCOTUS has signaled precedent no longer applies.

Thanks, Chris. I think this is the best we can hope for.

Did the Justices' questions give any clue about how they'd rule on Trump firing Powell or other firings in apparent violation of statute?

As a Canadian (with free health care for decades), it is mind boggling (I am not sure that I can properly convey the "what is wrong with this system?!?" sentiment) to see all of this critical time, with an already crowded docket, wasted on this sort of nonsense which would be obviated if US citizens had the health care they deserved.

I agree that a lot of Trump's pics are going to be disappearing once his administration gets underway. A lot of his people won't be around to say one year of service. That sort of can be good news. Potentially disruptive anyway.

But on another issue, you talked about is the marketplace HCA plans. But then you have your article headline mentioning medicaid. Medicaid is not part of the marketplace plans. The HCA plans are completely separate. A lot of states do not allow their Medicaid insurance to cover anything for transgender. Such as Florida where I live. I pay for my hormones with a good RX discount for whatever the discount price would be. I'm lucky to get my mammograms and doctor's visits and related labs for transgender care covered by my Medicaid insurance in Florida. But nothing really covered by Medicaid here besides what I mentioned. My laser and electrolysis came out of my own pocket. Surgeries forget it.

And of course after saying all this, one must realize that most people view transgender care, procedures, and surgeries as frivolous and unnecessary. So cutting transgender care is the low hanging fruit.

There are states, such as Maryland, where transgender care is covered under Medicaid 100%. And the worry now is will a state like that have to fight Trump to keep it that way. But I thought the issue that really is in front of us is: will the Trump administration remove transgender care from marketplace plan options?

Again, the two are separate.

If Trump has his way, people that get marketplace plans are going to find that transgender care has been cut from these plans altogether. In Florida right now, HCA plans that covers transgender care are with Blue Cross, Aetna, and I believe

Cigna also.

You know, it's not that Trump wants to cut only transgender care. Oh believe me he hates us. But they want to cut anything that they think they can cut. No matter what it is. Today I received an email from the Lyme Disease Association which I'm affiliated with because I had a strange illness related to Lyme disease. A condition that ruled my life for over a decade. And left me with scars all over my legs and no skin on my head (it grew back almost completely with scars still fading; and I'm waiting for surgery). And now they are telling me that cuts were made and they are struggling to survive as an organization. And they want me to contact my congressman and senator. And donate of course. Yeah, sure.

So they are taking the axe to anybody and anything they can. So they can lower the national [health care] budget and raise money for their billionaire tax breaks. American people be damned. And the sad thing is it's going to hurt the most vulnerable people out there. The ones that are already sick. With strange diseases that don't always have a cure. Autoimmune diseases. Or cancer. And so many other medical conditions. Real nice. Thanks MAGA Voters.
