Also Leader Thune and Dean of the Senate Grassley rebuked President Trump’s call for eliminating the blue slip. I think this has been the single worst day for the administration.

Begs the question: If (when) the sandcastle topples, what happens to the rubber stamp Court—its elitism is leading us backwards while the Western world goes forth.

Once a rickety structure starts to collapse the process rapidly accelerates. Short of starting a war, I can't see how this administration can escape lame duck status after the midterms.

Classic authoritarian maneuver. Makes everyone rally around the Maximum Leader, quells individual dissent, and justifies taking extra-legal steps in repressing opposition parties.
