On a sad note, who will protect this whistleblower? Certainly not the DoJ … nor anyone in our current madhouse.

Oh, what a world! Contrary to Todd Blanche’s claim, falsehoods seem to be the sole province of the Trump administration … starting with its leader. Excellent intro for Nobel considerations.

Oh yes. But of course. Reuveni is yet another disgruntled employee. Totally not to be believed. Yes, disgruntled. Glad he's gone. Good riddance. Bove's just the guy to serve a lifetime appointment to the Third Circuit. Splendid choice. Misdoings at the DOJ? Perish the thought! Move along folks. Nothing to see here.

The fallout from this one will get interesting. Now that the courts now of this conspiracy to violate their orders I wonder how friendly, even SCOTUS, will be to the current administration? My understanding their goodwill has been pretty thin lately and the DoJ has only been getting wins strictly on case merits and not just their status.

Edit to fix a grammar error.

Possibly … but what merits are there in the recent DVD decision?

Basically none near as I can tell. The dissent pretty much spells that out. I'm literally just reading that case now when I saw your reply pop up so my interpretation of it may be a bit premature though.

Edit (after reading further) - yeah, a "shadow docket" ruling is hard to evaluate. But that ruling came BEFORE this recent news. Hopefully it will have a positive effect on the majority's future decisions.

I think you’ll find the DVD opinion totally void of merits … or justifications.

Oh, I did. I edited my previous reply to reflect this.

Finally, watching the daily (hourly?) Trump outrages I am reminded of that scene in “A Clockwork Orange” where the McDowell character is forced to watch atrocities … with eyes pried open.

excellent. Not that the Senate GOP will pay much attention.

The only consolations I find in someone like Bove being elevated are: beyond loyalty to Trump he may not be an ideologue; and he’s probably so venal he’ll tire of judicial pay and seek greener pastures asap.

The “greener pasture” could wind up being the Supreme Court!!

This shit show has totally derailed this country. If the Dems do indeed gain control in our near future, they better FILL the courts with every fascist out there, build super prisons, charge each one with HIGH TREASON with CAPITAL PUNISHMENT or they’ll only find their way back into our system. If the Dems fail to do this, they’ll never see the Oval Office again because WE THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN!!! ENOUGH IS BLOODY ENOUGH!!!
